Ronald Anderson “Ande” Godsey, 55, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 in his Buckeye home, surrounded by loving family after a contentious draw with lung cancer. Born on July 1, 1968 in Garrard County, Kentucky, Ande was the firstborn son of Ron & Betty Godsey. He graduated from Garrard County High School and received his Master’s of Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. He eloped to his wife, Jana Kurtz Godsey, in 1988, and recently celebrated their 36th anniversary. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Ande was always the loudest in the room, never failing to stir laughter wherever he went. A craftsman by nature, Ande enjoyed an endless range of hobbies, including cooking, hiking, gardening, canning, and telling stories. Above all, Ande was ceaselessly devoted to his family, always showing up to support the ones he loved, even in sickness. Ande is survived by his parents, Ron & Betty Godsey; his wife, Jana Kurtz Godsey; his daughter, Katrina Jade Godsey; three brothers, Scott (Cindy) Godsey, Robbie (Brandy) Godsey, & Matt (Ashley) Godsey; five nephews, four nieces, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that helped make life suck a little less.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Ande at 4:00 PM Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Everett Priddy. Honorary pallbearers include Ron Godsey, Scott Godsey, Robbie Godsey, Matt Godsey, Rick Godsey, Tim Luscher, Jeff Kurtz Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Thursday.
