Ann Boren Spurlock, 81, of Lexington, Ky passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, surrounded by her family and best friend.
Ann was born on December 31, 1944, in Murray, KY, to the late Sadie Knight and Homer Boren. She later moved to Dover, Tennessee to live with friends who loved her as their own. She graduated from Stewart County High School and attended Austin Peay in Clarksville, TN. She was a dedicated accounting professional who loved to solve the mystery of the out of balance financial statement.
Ann is preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Lynn Berry, her parents Sadie and Homer, brothers Bathel, Lathel, and Glennon Boren and sister Marquetta “Mary” Zeeb. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Spurlock Judy (Adrian), her four grandchildren, Abby and Ben Berry, Cooper and Chandler Judy, her former husband and close friend, Jim Spurlock, her long-time best friend Charlotte Hunt and much-loved dog, Daisy.
Ann believed a family wasn’t complete without a pet. The adventures Ann and Charlotte embarked on spanned decades and thousands of miles. There was nothing Ann enjoyed more than traveling and seeing the country making friends along the way. Our family is forever grateful for Charlotte’s friendship as it no doubt enriched Ann’s life immeasurably.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 29,2026 at the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens by Rev. Troy Feltner. The family appreciates prayers as they celebrate her life.
Ann will be remembered for her love of family, travel, and animals. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Masonic Homes of Kentucky or Hospice, Bluegrass Care Navigators.
