Bertha McQuerry Obituary

Bertha Mae McQuerry, 93, of Old Railroad Grade Road in Paint Lick, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Christian Care Center in Lancaster. Born October 5, 1922 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Bethel & Suzie Bryant Wren. A homemaker, she attended Good Hope Baptist Church, was a volunteer with Fiends of Paint Lick, member of the Senior Citizens Center, and an avid gardener. In addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe McQuerry, one grandson, Jeff Day, and a brother, Luther Wren. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra (Johnnie) Day of Paint Lick, a son,Herlin (Glenda) McQuerry of Paint Lick, three grandchildren, Jamie Day, Billy Joe McQuerry & Elizabeth McQuerry,two step grandchildren, Kent & Kelly Parsons, and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with burial taking place in Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl, Bobby , Jerry, & Billie Joe McQuerry, June Gaffney, Jamie & Jordan Day with Katie Rollins, Janie Gaffney & Phyllis Henderson serving as honorary bearers. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Monday, January 18, 2016 at the funeral home.
