Betty "Jess" Edgington

Betty “Jess” Edgington, 83, of Stanford, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023. Born December 18, 1939 in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Jess & Mattie Beulah Cobb Carrier. She was a retired employee of American Greetings , was a member of Preachersville United Methodist Church, and had been attending Grace Fellowship Church. Jess loved working in her garden and yard, watching her sons and grandsons play sports in Lincoln County and her Kentucky Wildcats basketball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband , Herbert, a deceased step—granddaughter, Cindy Coffee, eight siblings, Leonard, O’Neal, Harold & Jess Carrier, Jr., Dorothy Grider, Bertie Kirkpatrick, Gladys Ray & Nancy Ray. Her survivors include two sons, Bruce (Kristi) Edgington of Stanford, Jerry (Joannie) Edgington of Somerset, a step-son, Fred (Sherry) Edgington, of Lancaster, a step—daughter, Connie Burkhart, of Lancaster, and a sister, Elsie Broaddus, of Lancaster. She is also survived by three grandsons, Tanner Edgington, Trevor (Christianna) Edgington , Trenton (Kelsi) Edgington, two step grandchildren, Brandon Edgington & Wayne Burkhart, as well as two great grandchildren, Blaise & Memphis Edgington. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 3, 2023 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Vola Brown, with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5—8 PM Thursday February 2, 2023 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tanner, Trevor, Trenton, & Brandon Edgington, Jason Ray & Randy Carrier.
