Betty Lou Preston

Betty Lou Preston, 86 of Lancaster, passed away on August 15th, 2026, at home surrounded by her family who loved her dearly after a short illness. Born on November 3rd, 1939, to the late George and Myrtle Gourley of Lincoln County. Betty worked at Cowden’s Factory in Lancaster, KY, Palm Beach Company, in Danville, KY. IGA in Lancaster KY, and was a retired employee from Walmart in Danville KY. Betty was a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Ann Preston, on December 21st, 2025. In addition to her parents and daughter, she was preceded in death by brothers; Audrey Gourley, Carl Gourley, Bob Gourley, Dave Gourley and one sister, Rose Grubbs.

 Survivors include her husband Holman Preston, Jr. of Lancaster, where they had been married for 66 years this past April 16th; two sons, Tim Preston (Rebecca) of Lancaster, Terry Preston of Lancaster; one granddaughter, Stacey Preston of Lancaster; two grandsons, Michael Preston of Lancaster, Cole Preston of Lancaster; two great granddaughters, Emma Preston of Lancaster, and Wendy Elizabeth Preston of Phoenix, Arizona, and one surviving sister, Wanda Lewis of Cleveland Ohio.

 Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M until funeral service time at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday August 20th, 2026, at Ramsey – Young Funeral Home, with Brother Steve Horn officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Stacey Preston, Michael Preston, Cole Preston, Emma Preston, Allan Grubbs, and Darrel Gourley. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the Heritage Hospice patient care fund in Danville, KY.
