Billy Ray Jackson, Sr.

Billy Ray Jackson, Sr., 90, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Born on Monday, October 23, 1933 in Hawesville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Coy Jackson, Sr. & Addie Fitzgerald Jackson. Billy was a pastor for many years & delivered newspapers. He pastored many churches during his ministry including: Gilbert’s Creek Baptist, Liberty Baptist, Pond Baptist & Harris Creek Baptist. He was an active member at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Lancaster. Billy was a United States Navy veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus & 3 sisters, Wanda, Delores & Vivian.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Norma Jean Baker Jackson, of Lancaster; son, Billy Jackson, Jr.,

 of Lancaster; daughter, Sharon Reynolds, of Lancaster; brother, Coy (the late Florence) Jackson, Jr.; grandchildren, Brian Isaacs, of Georgetown, Joshua (Tinsley Setters) Roberts, of Lancaster, Jamison Reynolds, of Somerset; great-grandchildren, Jaylyn & Loralyn Roberts & Ashlyn & Madilyn Hisle, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Dixon & Mr. Roy Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers include Billy Joe Nugent, Gerald Nugent, Justin Nugent, Brian Isaacs & Joshua Roberts. Honorary pallbearers include his granddaughters & the entire membership at Beech Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the funeral home.
