Billy Wayne Lane

Billy Wayne  Lane, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born Sunday, April 12, 1942, he was a son of the late Charles & Ella Mae Montgomery Lane. Billy was a contractor by trade & a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. He enjoyed drag boat racing, fast cars & spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William Wayne “Little Bill” Lane II.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Shari Blake Lane, of Lancaster; daughters, Kim (McKinley) Dailey, Lori (Kenny) Norton, Dana (Greg) Hensley, Julie (John) Teater, Karen (Dave) Amon, all of Lancaster, Billie (Kieth) Phillips, of Stanford; brother, Sammy (Carlotta) Durham, of Lancaster; sister, Betty Lou (Ronnie) Godsey, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Jordan (Stephanie) Dailey, Spencer Barrett, Hunter (Marissa) Hensley, Landon (Samantha) Hensley, Tanner (Megan) Barrett, Cruz Amon, Parker (Taylor) Dailey, Kallie Phillips (Trevor), Kenlea Norton, Kamryn Norton, Bryce Phillips, Zak Dailey, J.L. Teater, Urban Teater; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Miranda) Pennington, Taylor Dailey, Trista Dailey, Ari Barrett, Annzley Hensley, Ava Barrett, Luka Hensley, Jhett Hensley, Lenni Hensley, Isaac Lewis & one great-great-grandchild, Tripp Pennington.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Rhodus officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. Pallbearers include Spencer Barrett, Hunter Hensley, Landon Hensley, Tanner Barrett, Cruz Amon, Parker Dailey, Kallie Phillips, Bryce Phillips & Zak Dailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Dailey, Kenlea Norton, Kamryn Norton, J.L. Teater & Urban Teater. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to The American Diabetic Association.
