Bobby Groves Denny, 88, of Danville, passed away Saturday, September 04, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born on Tuesday, December 13, 1932 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Sabie Lee & Ruby Clark Denny. He was a former employee for I.B.M. for many years. Bobby was a sports enthusiast, playing in the semi-pro Bluegrass Baseball League and the Southern Belle softball team. He was also an avid golfer. Bobby served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia June Gammon Denny; twin brother, Billy A. Denny; sister, Dorothy Lee Frink.
Survivors include a niece, Jill D. (Mike) Stevens, of Lancaster; nephews, Mike (Debbie) Frink, of New York, Gary (Cindy) Frink, of Pennsylvania, Shane (Melanie) Gammon, of Junction City; brother-in-law, Bobby (Dee) Gammon, of Willisburg and one sister-in-law, Ruth McQuerry Denny.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Dr. Harold Best officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Stevens, Will Stevens, Drew Stevens, Bob Tharp, Harold King & Shane Gammon. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Gammon, Paul Douglas Clark, Terri Teater, Jason Hensley, Anita Yatso & Mack “Chigger” Hulett. Face coverings and social distancing are required for all who plan to attend the graveside service.
