Carlos "Butch" Broughton

Carlos J. “Butch” Broughton, 73, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at his home. Born on August 29, 1952, he was a son of the late Dillard & Thelma Lamb Broughton. Butch was a former operating engineer for the Local 181 Union of Operating Engineers. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars, racing, hunting, fishing, lake life, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dillard Lee Broughton, and a son, David Broughton.

Survivors include his sons, Brandon Broughton, of Lancaster, Scott Broughton, of Stanford, Thomas Broughton, of Vanceburg; sisters, Freda (Sonny) McGuffey, of Stanford, Frances Hinds, of Lancaster; granddaughter, Meaghan Broughton, of Stanford, as well as several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with burial following at the Broughton Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the funeral home.
