Carol Curtis Christopher, 81, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, in Danville. Born on Monday, March 29, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert Curtis & Mary Irene Dunlap Curtis. As a small child her family moved to Garrard County, Kentucky, which she always considered home. She became an administrative assistant and secretary for various businesses, and was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church. Carol was an avid UK basketball fan, loved country music, and enjoyed NASCAR. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Gail Curtis and Aileen Reed.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles “Charlie” Christopher, of Lancaster; her daughter, Karen Farris, of Junction City; brother, Bobby Curtis, of Stanford; sister, Janet (the late Bill) Pendergrass, of Harrodsburg; grandchildren, Ashley (Thomas) Christopher Richey, Chad (Brandi) Farris; great-grandchildren, Haleigh & Bryson Farris, Brilynn & Madison Ritchie, as well as a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Odis Clark officiating, and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Chad Farris, Bryson Farris, Thomas Richey, Thomas West, Rodney West, Mike Curtis, and Doug Reed. Honorary pallbearers include the members of Scott’s Fork Christian Church. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until service time on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the funeral home.
