Carol Stocker

Wilma Carol Long Stocker, age 87, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025 in Danville. She was born March 23, 1938 in Madison County to the late Nathan Miller & Lillian Hazel Prather Long. Carol was a homemaker, loved listening to Southern Gospel music, growing her flowers, camping, traveling, and most of all—her family. She was also a member of the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Linden Stocker. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by three daughters, Linda Carol (the late Dwayne) Whittaker of Burgin, Karen Ann (Danny) Hazlett of Lancaster, Kathy S. (Ronald) Howard of Lancaster, three precious grandchildren, Nathan Howard Green, Emma Grace Howard, and Ethan Luke Howard. She is also survived by her siblings, Doug (Janet) Long, Lois Horn & Donna Tipton and a sister in law, Betty Joe (Jack) Rhodus. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 2:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Ramsey Young Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home by her nephew, Rev. Greg Horn, with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Blake Long, Mike Horn, Darrin Horn, Rick Moody, & Bill Rhodus, along with her cousins, Billy Linville, Carl Lee Hazelwood & Ronnie Devere. Honorary pallbearers will be the adult women’s Sunday School Class of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.
