Charles "Buddy" G. Young

Charles “Buddy” G. Young, 79, of Nicholasville, passed away  Sunday, August 27, 2023 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born on Saturday, March 04, 1944 in Stanford, he was a son of the late Charlie E. & Della Pearl Reed Young. Buddy was a former shipping supervisor for Wabco, as well as a former employee for Gray Construction. He was also a commercial and residential painter, who enjoyed bowling, baseball, fishing and gardening. He loved to play golf, and was a devout member of Highland Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rev. Donald Keith Scilley & one niece, Lisa Ann Scilley.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Frankie Taylor Young; son, Scott (Peggy) Young, of Stanford; step-son, Travis Lane (Elsa) Blake, of Williamstown; daughters, Tammy (Ricky) King, of Geneva, Jourdan (Zachary) Frankenburger, of Lancaster; sister, Doris Ann (the late Rev. Donald Keith) Scilley, of Lexington; grandchildren, Kelci, Cameron, Gregory, Chad, Keith, Leanna, Eric, Levi, Harper, Jack, Gracie & Trent;15 great-grandchildren; niece, Dawn Denise (Scot) Cheetham; nephew, Daniel (Kieth) (Michelle) Scilley; aunt, Annie Louise (Billy Bob) Barker.

Funeral services will be 6:00PM Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Highland Methodist Church (9731 KY HWY 1247 Waynesburg, KY 40489) with Bro. Johnny Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until service time on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the church.
