Danny Lee Ray, 75, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his home surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born in Danville, Ky on May 17, 1949 to the late Holman and Nannie B Ray. Danny loved working with vehicles and owned a body shop. He ran heavyequipment, and was proficient in many other areas. He was called upon to care for various family members, and did so with complete dedication. He loved to travel, watch westerns, and spend time with his family. Family meant everything to Danny, and his most cherished memories were time spent with family especially at Christmas. For all the gruffness he sometimes showed on the outside, he was very tender hearted and compassionate. Anything from quietly paying for an elderly couple’s dinner, giving money to homeless beggars and helping others with whatever they needed. He wanted all humans and animals to have food and would often take a meal to someone. He would share his snacks with whatever animals were around, from birds, ducks, geese, racoons, fish or squirrels. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Dwight and Bobby, and a grandson, Justin Alexander. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years Amy Carol Nave Ray, and daughters Lisa Domidion, and Paula (Shane) Edwards. Grandchildren Taylor (Jameson) DeBord, Baylee Alexander, and Cameron Alexander. Great grandchildren Sawyer and Hayes DeBord and a host of other family members and special friends. Cremation rites were honored, and a graveside service will be held at the shelter in Lancaster Cemetery on Friday February 28, 2025 at 4:30 pm. Friends and family may leave condolences or special memories on his tribute page at www.ramsey-young.com or ckccrematory.com
