David Alan Ray, Sr., 84, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his home. Born June 29, 1939 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Steve & Myrtle Adams Ray. David had been a lifelong farmer and loved collecting old cars and trucks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hume Ray, and a sister, Wilma Cupp.
His survivors include a son, David Alan Ray, Jr., and daughter, Donna Lynn League, both of Lancaster, two brothers, Ronald (Pamela) Ray of Wilmore and Ernest Lee (Shirley) Ray of Lancaster, two sisters, Arlene (Rick) Otto of Frankfort and Mary Shearer of Lancaster, two grandchildren, Bradley Davis (Amy) League and April Michelle (Anthony) Black. He also leaves behind nine great grandchildren, Bradley Michael Stuart (Grace) League, Patrick Alan League, Christopher David League, Andrea Michelle League, Maddox Emerson Marks, Everett Black, Carson Black, Max Black & Connor Black, as well as one great great grandchild, Anna Lee Ray League.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 10, 2023 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. John Kreinbring officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Kyle Cupp, Michael Hasty, David Boyd, Shawn Otto, Robbie Ray & Anthony Black. Visitation will be Thursday evening, November 9, 2023 from 5:00—8:00 PM.
