David Kevin Reik, 64, of Lancaster, passed away on February 22, 2025, at his home. With his wife, Dana by his side. He was born to the late Elmer Andrew Reik & Selene Ruhe Reik of Plantation, Florida on February 18, 1961, in Broward County, Florida.
David served in the Air Force as an E4 Sergeant/Crew Chief. He then worked for EMS, CSEPP/EMA, and retired from the Lancaster Fire Department after 18 years. He was a member of AMVETS & American Legion in Danville. David enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, riding ATVs, driving his Corvette around town, and was of the Baptist faith.
“Big Dave” had an infectious laugh that took over wherever he was, loved to be the life of the party, and was a seasoned pro with witty comeback lines. With Dana’s encouragement, David became quite accomplished at singing karaoke, and could often be found at the Danville American Legion and AMVETS centers, perfecting his talent. His presence there will be greatly missed.
Survivors other than his mother include his wife of 40 years, Dana Gibson Reik, of Lancaster; sons, Tyler (Brittany) Reik, of South Florida, Austin (Faris) Reik, and Colby (Mackenzie) Reik, both of Lancaster; a brother, Michael (Elizabeth) Reik, of Fort Lauderdale; sisters, Toni (Justice) Lohr, of Farmland, IN, Victoria (Lon) Warrenfeltz, of Naples, FL, and Kimberly (Brian) Johnson, of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Sophia, Cora, Collins, Cade, Knox, Palmer, Kayden, Cooper, and Armor.
