Della Jean Hale

Della Jean Hale, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in Lancaster, KY.    Born on Wednesday, November 25, 1936 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond L Burdette and the late Geneva Broaddus Heipley. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Hershel Lynn Hale, three daughters, Susan Hale of Lancaster, Jackie Berrill (Jim) of Lexington, and Kim Mackin of Cashiers, NC and sister, Edwina Stevens and half siblings, Emilie Thomas and Tom Heipley. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Megan Lyman (Lars), Anna Berrill Sears (Adam), Katherine Lyons (Tanner), Alex Berrill (Megan), Caroline Mackin (Julia) and three great grandchildren, Taylor Lyman, Christian Hansford and Emma Lyman, as well as, a step great grandchild, Carson Lyman. Over the years she had worked at American  Greetings, Christian Appalachian Project,  Garrard County Hospital, and had been a caregiver. She was a member of Forks of Dix River Church. She loved vegetable and flower gardening as well as fishing trips to Florida with Hershel. One of her favorite loves- -people. She never met a stranger. 

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.  Funeral services to immediately follow at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at the Lancaster Cemetery.

 Pallbearers are Lars Lyman, Christian Hansford, Alex Berrill, Randall Stevens, Pat Henderson and Doug Hale.  In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
