Earnest “Ernie” Ellis, 64, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, September 05, 2022 at his home. Born Thursday. February 20, 1958 to Joetta Turner Ellis & the late Stanley Dwaine Ellis in Garrard County. Ernie was a mechanic, and enjoyed working on hot-rods, motorcycles & tractors. He liked drag racing, and regularly attended Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda Day Ellis, of Lancaster; mother, Joetta Turner Ellis, of Lancaster; son, Blake Ellis, of Lancaster; sisters, Sherry (Freddie) Edgington, of Lancaster, Gail (the late Robert) McQueary, of Lancaster, Candy (Jay Whitaker) Cummins, of Danville, brothers, Kenneth (Rhonda) Ellis, of Lancaster, Randy (Bonnie) Ellis, of Lancaster, nieces, Stacy & Miranda; nephews, Brandon, Kevin, Steven & Randall, as well as his cats, Kitty-Puss & Tom.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Bryan Watts officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until service time at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers include, Anthony Davis, Scott Barnes, Donnie Gooch, Jackson Sparks, Denny Ray, Terry wild man, Kitty-Puss, Tom, & all of his loyal customers. After services Ernie’s wishes for cremation will be honored. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to Heritage Hospice.
