Ernest Dailey Obituary

Ernest H. Dailey, 91, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his home. Born October 15, 1929 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Dewey & Beatrice Casey Dailey. Ernest was a longtime barber and former policeman, an Army veteran, a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Benevolent Order of Elks, the VFW and  had a passion for horses and horse back riding. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his first wife Geneva Dailey, a son, William Dewey Dailey, and three brothers, Glenmore, Lloyd & George Dailey.

His survivors include his wife of 22 years, Jimmie Abbott Dailey, of Lancaster, a son, Tommy Dailey of Lexington, a sister, Carolyn Durham of Lancaster, two grandchildren, Andrew & Liam Dailey, four nieces and 2 nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Bill Rhodus & Rev. Dan Kleib, with burial in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be  Bobby Carter Durham, Paul Daniel Dailey, Tommy Dailey, James Held, Mike Tracy & Ralph Feldman, with Ralph Sebastian serving as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until service time on Thursday.

In accordance with state mandates, facial coverings and proper social distancing measures are required  to attend services. Friends and family may leave special memories or condolences on his tribute page at www.ramsey-young.com  Ramsey-Young Funeral  Home in charge of arrangements.
