Evelyn Browning, 97, of Richmond, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Cedar Hurst of Nicholasville. Born on December 8, 1928, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Elby Maupin & Anna Mae Kidd Maupin. Evelyn was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Richmond. She was a former employee at Cowden Manufacturing, and in later years became a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Browning; brother, Paul E. Maupin, and a sister, Dora Lane.
Survivors include her son, Danny (Sandy) Browning of Nicholasville; daughters, Judy Ray of Lexington and Carla Von Behren of Winchester; brother, Victor “Buddy” Maupin of Danville; sisters, Barbara Cornelison of Richmond, and Kathy Lane of Garrard County; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until funeral service time at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Browning and Bro. Jay Webb officiating. Pallbearers include Christopher Browning, James Thomas Browning, David Lane, Brett Gregory, Jake Miracle and Ryan Pleasant. Honorary pallbearers include Scott Lane & Kelly Maupin.
