F.C. “Cedar” Foley, 80, of Garrard County, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born on Monday, July 7, 1941 in Madison County, he was a son of the late Oscar Herbert & Anna Mae Ross Foley. Cedar was a life-long farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers; Manford Foley, Bill Foley, Pete Foley, & Ed Foley; sisters, Grace Simpson, Hazel Gill, & Augustine Hall.
Survivors include his wife, Alleta Mershon Foley, of Lancaster; son, David Earl Foley, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Cole (Kinsey) Foley, Shelby Foley (Jacob Balser), Sierra Foley (Matthew Gatewood); great-grandchild, Millicent Anne Carpenter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 6, 2022 with Rev. Bobby Greene & Rev. Andy Dixon officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ronnie Moberly, Randy Preston, Cole Foley, Ronnie Horn, Billy Moore, & Justin Wilmot. Honorary pallbearers include Jason Hall, Tommy Gill, Greg Foley, Rusty Foley, Jacob Balser, & Allen “Peanut” Edgington. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the funeral home. Friends & family may share memories or leave condolences on his tribute wall at: www.ramsey-young.com.
