Fernando Ordaz Laguna Obituary

ENGLISH -- Fernando Ordaz Laguna, 41, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at UK Medical Center. Born on April 15, 1983 in Mexico, City, Mexico, he was a son of Cristina Laguna & the late Fernando Ordaz. Fernando took great pride in his career as Head Chef at Carson’s of Andover, in Lexington. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Fernando put others before himself, and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He also enjoyed playing soccer, riding dirt bikes, and going to the lake. Fernando was of the Catholic faith, and a member of the Cathedral of Christ the King, in Lexington.

Survivors include his mother, Cristina Laguna, of Mexico; wife, Ruth Ordaz, of Lexington; sons, Gael and Kobe; daughters, Allison and Ana Cristina; brother, Eduardo Ordaz, of Lexington; sister, Elizabeth (Rafael Lopez) Ordaz, of Mexico; uncle, Luis Laguna and cousin Manuel Romero, both of Nashville; aunts, Angelina Laguna, of Nashville, Patricia Ortiz, of Lexington, and a host of other friends & extended family. 

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00—9:00PM Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, and from 9:00AM until service time on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the funeral home. ESPANOL -- Fernando Ordaz Laguna, 41, de Lexington, falleció el sábado 19 de octubre de 2024 en el UK Medical Center. Nació el 15 de abril de 1983 en la Ciudad de México, hijo de Cristina Laguna y del difunto Fernando Ordaz. Fernando se enorgullecía de su carrera como Jefe de Cocina en Carson's of Andover, en Lexington. Por encima de todo, le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Fernando ponía a los demás antes que a sí mismo, y siempre echaba una mano a cualquiera que lo necesitara. También le gustaba jugar al fútbol, montar en motos de cross e ir al lago. Fernando era católico y miembro de la Catedral de Cristo Rey, en Lexington.
Le sobreviven su madre, Cristina Laguna, de México; su esposa, Ruth Ordaz, de Lexington; sus hijos, Gael y Kobe; sus hijas, Allison y Ana Cristina; su hermano, Eduardo Ordaz, de Lexington; su hermana, Elizabeth (Rafael López) Ordaz, de México; su tío, Luis Laguna y su primo Manuel Romero, ambos de Nashville; sus tías, Angelina Laguna, de Nashville, Patricia Ortiz, de Lexington, y muchos otros amigos y familiares.
Misa Funeral se llevará a cabo a las 11:00 AM Miércoles, 23 de octubre 2024 en Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Las visitas serán de 4:00-9:00PM el martes, 22 de octubre de 2024 en Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, y de 9:00AM hasta la hora del servicio el miércoles, 23 de octubre de 2024 en la funeraria.
