Florence Ada Murphy, 98, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Maplewood Health & Rehab in Lancaster. Born on April 8, 1928, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Claine & Mable Stipes McCulley. Florence was a homemaker. She was proud to be the eldest member of Gunn’s Chapel Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and playing BINGO with her friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Murphy; brothers, Paul, Billy, and Bryce McCulley; sister, Mary Edith Bourne.
Survivors include a son, Jerry (Janet) Murphy of Richmond; daughter, Pam (Elwood Scott) Brown of Lancaster; brother, Donnie McCulley of Nicholasville; sister, Betty Arnold of Lancaster; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Rev. Sam Glenn officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Brad Hendren, Ben Yann, Shawn Blair, Keith Bourne, Elwood Scott, and Braxton Allen. Honorary pallbearers include Bill Graves, Michael Davis, Dallas & Lisa McFerron, James & Debbie Wilmot, Eddie Davis, Steve Simpson, and Toni Lear Gilliam.
