Grant Thomas Oakley, 17, of Kirksville Road in Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2015 in Lexington. Born June 20, 1998 in Lexington, he was a son of Mike & Pam Montgomery Oakley. Grant was a senior at Garrard County High School where he was in the High School Marching Band , in the Garrard Vocational School welding class, Skills USA Club, a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church and loved being outdoors. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Reesha Oakley of Hazel Green, Ky., Jessica Little of Mt. Sterling, Ky., Maternal Grandparents, Kenneth "K.A." & Betty Montgomery of Lancaster, Paternal Grandfather, John Henry & the late Iris Oakley of Wilmore and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Grant will be 3:00 PM Sunday November 8, 2015 at Hyattsville Baptist Church by Rev. Gary Durham, with burial following in Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Hounchell, Billy Gooden, Kyle Stinnett, John Smith, Joey Gibson, Justin Craig, Colton Barker & Ricky Shearer with the Garrard County Marching Band, The Freemasons, & the Peacemakers Motorcycle Club serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 3-8 PM Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Garrard County High School Gymnasium on Hwy 39, Lancaster and from 1-3 PM Sunday at Hyattsville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers that family suggest contributions go to the Garrard County Marching Band.
