Henry B. “Sonny” Hodge, 81, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024. He was the only child of the late Henry B. Hodge, Sr. & Flora May Rice Hodge, born on Friday, February 5, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Henry was a United States Air Force veteran, where he was an aircraft mechanic in New Jersey. After 4 years of active duty in the Air Force, he joined the reserves, where he retired after 25 years of service. Henry then went on to become an electronics technician, and an inspector for the Bluegrass Army Depot. Henry enjoyed H.A.M. radio since the age of 13, and was a member of the Lake Cumberland Amateur Radio Association. He loved his family, and enjoyed his dogs and grand-dogs.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Judith O’Brien Hodge, of Lancaster, Kentucky; daughters, Laura Singer, of Hackettstown, New Jersey & Abby Hodge, of Lancaster, Kentucky; grandchildren, Rachel Singer, Sarah Culver and her husband Hasan, Adam Singer and his wife Morgan, and Joshua Singer; cousin Daryl Hodge and his wife Marcia, of Lancaster, Kentucky, as well as a host of other cousins.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, in Lancaster, and from 11:00AM—12:00 noon on November 26, 2024 at Bethelridge Church, in Casey County.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Bethelridge Church, in Casey County, with Rev. Daryl Hodge & Bro. Ray Newsome officiating, and burial following at Bethelridge Cemetery. Pallbearers include members of the John Shirk family. Expressions of sympathy may go to the Garrard County Animal Shelter.
