Jack Fawley 103 years old of South Bend, Indiana, formerly of Lancaster, Kentucky passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023. Jack was born on October 21, 1919 in Niagara Falls, Canada. Jack was a loving father, grandfather and husband. Jack is survived by his son Terry Fawley of South Bend Indiana, daughters, Debbie (Calvin) Schafer of Lakeville Indiana, Vickie Roush of South Bend Indiana. His memory will live on through his grandchildren; Lisa (Chris) Eickleberry, Sharon Schafer, Brian Schafer and his great grandchildren Landon and Preston Eickleberry. Jack is survived by his best friend Jerry Purcell who was like a brother to him and sister in-law Jean Fawley. Jack’s faithful companion is his dog Ally who also survives. Jack was preceded in death by his 2nd wife, Mary Fawley, brothers Max Fawley, Donald Fawley and his sister Janey.
Jack was a graduate of Washington High School. Jack proudly served in the military during World War II as a Technical Sergeant with the 162d Infantry Regiment. Jack had a great love for the outdoors. Jack enjoyed fishing and going to the horse races in Keeneland and Churchill Downs Kentucky. Jack was a member of American Legion Post 0046 Danville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Monday, May 22, 2023 at Ramsey-Young by Rev. Joshua Wiggs, with burial following in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time Monday at the funeral home.
