James Edward Dodson

James Edward Dodson, 50, of Winchester, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024. Born on September 5, 1973 in Richmond, he was the son of Eddie Gilbert and the late Doris Ann Birch. James was a Peer Support Specialist, a construction worker, and was a member of Hedgeville Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his adopted father, Donald Dodson.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, LeAnna Barker Dodson, of Lancaster; grandmother, Irene Mullins; father, Eddie (Debbie) Gilbert, of Richmond; son, Jesse (Morgan) Dodson, of Greenville, South Carolina; daughter, Savannah (Gage) Horn, of Moreland; brother, Adam Dodson, of Richmond; granddaughters, Parker Horn and Landry Horn.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Grizzell officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jesse Dodson, Adam Dodson, Billy Barker, Jamie Barker, Jeremy Barker, and Gage Horn. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the funeral home.
