James Kelly "J.K." Simpson

James Kelly “J.K.” Simpson, 70, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born to  Margaret Arnold & the late Fred Simpson, Jr. on Sunday, October 03, 1954, in Lancaster. J.K. was a Deacon at the Maple Ave. Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, J.K. is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dawn Speake Simpson, of Lancaster; children, Josh, (Lucia) Simpson, of Louisville, Matt (Kelli) Simpson, of Lancaster, Kelly Simpson (Mark Cheeks), of Richmond, Zach Simpson, of Lancaster; brother, Fred Logan (Kathy) Simpson, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Porter, Kennedy, Brock, Charlie, and Sam.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Isaac Hall officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery.  Pallbearers include David Abee, Jeff Daly, Jim Moberly, Max Anderson, Ken Parsons, and Lothar Bowman. Honorary pallbearers include the members of Maple Ave. Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 4:00—8:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2024, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
