James L. Poynter, Jr., 63, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 in his home in Lancaster. Born to the late James Poynter, Sr. & Esther Rain Lamb on February 21, 1960 in Garrard County. James was a skilled mechanic, guitar player, and fisherman.
Survivors include his dear friend, Cindy Taylor, of Lancaster; sons, Zachary Logan Poynter, of Danville and Jonah Ray Poynter, of Oregon; a step-daughter; Jessica (Brent) Anderson, of Lancaster; a brother, Timothy Logan Poynter; a sister, Sheila Brannan, of Danville; a step-granddaughter, Abigail Taylor, of Lancaster; a host of aunts & uncles, including Doug Lamb, of Tennessee; and a host of nieces & nephews, including Michelle Lamb Fry, of Perryville.
James’ request for cremation has been honored at this time. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Logan Hubble Park organized by the family.
