James Edward McCulley, 96, of Lancaster, husband of JoAnn Brackett McCulley, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born Friday, March 5, 1926 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Noel & Emma Stipes McCulley. James was an avid UK fan, & a member of the Oddfellows. He was a former employee for Dixie Cup Co. in Lexington, & a member of Gunn’s Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife, JoAnn, includes a son, Jimmy McCulley; granddaughter, Hailey McCulley; and great-grandchild, Averi Madison McPherson, all of Lancaster.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Browning & Rev. Matt Cooke officiating and burial following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jesse Goens, John Clark, Rusty Sebastian, Brayden Sebastian, Walt Browning & Roy Gibson. Honorary pallbearers include Caywood Metcalf, Roo Elleman, Mark Metcalf & Todd Montgomery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the funeral home.
