Eleanor Janet Sebastian, 94, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026. She died peacefully at Dayton Hospice, in Dayton, Ohio. She was a long-time resident of Dayton, Ohio. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Gunns Chapel, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Maudie Irvin, husband, Jasper Donald Sebastian, son, Gregory Joe Sebastian, brothers, Asa, Ed, and Kenneth Irvin, sisters, Opal McCulley and Maxine Sebastian. She is survived by her daughter, Dowana Janet Sebastian (Cliff Hodge), and step-son, Donald Sebastian.
Janet was a graduate of Buckeye High School. She was a homemaker, Avon, Stanley and Tupperware representative, and livelong volunteer at her church, The Gathering of Dayton, Ohio. She also was a servant with Pastor Fritz at the Community Methodist Church of Riverside, Ohio and was a longtime volunteer with the Life Enrichment Center of Dayton. She enjoyed playing percussion with University of Dayton Senior Band. She faithfully served countless families, including her own, as a caregiver during their time of need or terminal illness.
Her Visitation will be from 12 Noon until 2pm on Friday, April 17,2026 with her service at 2pm at the Ramsey-Young Funeral Home in Lancaster, KY. Pallbearers will be Cliff Hodge, Cliff-Ed Irvin, Danny Irvin, Justin Wilmot, and Mitchell Irvin. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.
