Jeff Merrell, 65, of Stanford, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. Born on March 20, 1961, in Danville, he was a son of the late Louis Merrell & Hilda Dye. Jeff enjoyed American muscle cars, specifically his 1969 Camaro. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved old country music. He was the former owner of Jeff’s Auto Body, and a member of Parlor Grove Baptist Church in Waynesburg.
Survivors include his daughters, Hillary (Abel) Diaz of Stanford, Kristy (Ryan) Johnson of Bowling Green, and Misty (Erik) Cobb of Nicholasville; step-daughters, Tina (Adam) McCombs of Ohio, and Jamie (Steven) Titze of Florida; the mother of his children, Trish Merrell of Nicholasville; brothers and sisters, Arnold (Eula) Merrell, Fay (Charles) Manning, Jackie (Vicky) Merrell, Randy Merrell, and Tommy (Leisia) Merrell; grandchildren, Caden, Keeley & Asher Diaz, Trent & Kendall Johnson, and Payton & Ryder Stull.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Rev. Daryl Hodge officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Abel Diaz, Ryan Johnson, Caden Diaz, Greg Hill, Asher Diaz & Bernie Crew. Honorary pallbearers include Ryder Stull, Erik Cobb, Trent Johnson, Keith Middleton, and Mike Southerland. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00PM on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
