Jo Ann Marsee

Jo Ann Marsee, 87, of Bryantsville, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at her home. Born on Saturday, May 29, 1937, in Middletown, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late William Taft & Josephine Eller Ramsey. Jo Ann worked in child care, and was a homemaker. She was also a founding member of the Camp Dick Fire & Rescue Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Buena Vista Messengers Gospel Group at Buena Vista Baptist Church, and a precinct worker for Bryantsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Bryant Marsee; sons, Jiles William Winchester, Jr., Ronnie Marsee, Monta Edwin Marsee; daughter Sheila Cecil; brothers, Riley Ramsey, William Taft Ramsey, Jr., John D. Ramsey; sisters, Pearl Winchester, Phyllis Vaughn, Wanda Sherfield, as well as 2 infant brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Winchester (the late Stevie) Ballard, of Bryantsville; son, Sammy (Mindy) Marsee, of Bryantsville; son David Marsee and Dana Marsee of Nicholasville; brother, Ronnie Ramsey, of Indiana; sisters, Pauline Hatfield, Patty Moran & Doris Bell, all of Indiana, Betty Johnson, of Ohio; grandchildren, Stephanie Anne Ballard (Mark Riffle), Layne (Ryan) Marsee, Dalton Jo-Hart Marsee, Brian Marsee, Deana Riddle, Jeff Juett, Audrey Peel, Joey Marsee, Brandon Adams, Shannon Marsee, Jenny Privett, Goldie Stinnett, Mary Million, and David Marsee; great-grandchildren, Cody (Charity), Jordan, Bennett, Bo, Merritt, Noah, Dawson, Kaitlynn, Tanner, Wyatt, Levi; and a host of nieces & nephews, as well as many good friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bishop David Marsee officiating & burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Cody Ballard, Layne Marsee, Dalton Marsee, Josh Gibson, Hunter Hensley, Landon Hensley & Tristan “Baby Paul” Collier. Honorary pallbearers include Mark Riffle, Tara Hill, Sheila Price, Jerry Burdine, Mark Marsee, & all of the kids she helped raise over the generations.
