Linda Rader

Linda S. Preston Rader, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. She was born to the late Everett & Sylvia Casey Preston on Thursday, December 5, 1946, in Buckeye. Linda was apart of the Class of 1965 in Lancaster, then went on to graduate from Pikeville College in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree. She was a teacher in Columbus for 30 years, where she started in elementary, but transitioned to a reading teacher. She also enjoyed painting, playing the piano, loved cats, and was of the Baptist faith.

Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Lana Preston (the late Randy) Handy. Survivors include her husband, Gary Rader, of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Laura (Jeffrey) Cooper, of Jarrettsville, MD; a brother, Lowell (Peggy) Preston, of Louisville; a sister, Clelly (William) Bouch, of Nicholasville; and a grandchild, Garen Cooper.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Lancaster Cemetery with burial following and Bro. Darrell Estes officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM — 7:00 PM Monday, April 28, 2025, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
