Margaret J. Burton

Margaret J. Burton, 69 passed away from this earth on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Margaret was of the Baptist faith and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was born on March 21, 1956, in Lancaster, Kentucky to Paul T. & Nerva Dailey whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Charles E. Burton, and two beloved children, Sheri (Cliffton) Yocum of Lancaster, and Chris (Olivia) Hume of Richmond; grandchildren, Hagen Jules (Alicia), Kadie, Keegan, Cassara & Clifton, Jr; two brothers and two sisters, Tim (Melinda) Dailey of Lancaster, Tracy (Tommy) Gooch of Ottenheim, McKinley (Kim) Dailey, and Paula (Eddie) Cantrell both of Lancaster, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Margaret retired from American Greetings after 44 years of service. Margaret loved working in her flowers, spending time with her grandchildren, and managing Nana’s Mum Patch. She enjoyed supporting the Lady Lions basketball and softball teams, keeping the books for high school basketball and softball, and also coaching GMS Cougars girls’ softball. She and Charles loved going fishing together, but what she cherished the most was spending quality time with him. She was one of a kind, and loved her big giant family fiercely, she will be terribly missed.

Visitation for Margaret will be held from 10:00 AM until funeral service time at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Mrs. Anna Mundy officiating, and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Parker Dailey, Zak Dailey, Dawsin Perkins, Austin Dailey, Coty Cantrell, and Jesse Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers include her nieces & nephews.
