Nina Preston Gilliam, 86, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, February 02, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born on Friday, December 14, 1934 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late George Earl & Marie Tipton Preston. Nina was a former employee for General Electric & Cowdens Manufacturing. She was in the Soul Sister Women’s Group, a member of Scott’s Fork Christian Church, and a former Sunday school teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Gilliam; brother, David Preston, and one sister, Patsy Gilliam.
Survivors include daughters, Becky (Danny) Burton, Pam (Tim) May, & Georgia (Clay) Parsons, all of Lancaster; brothers, Virgil (Freda) Preston, & Kinnaird (Faye) Preston, both of Mitchellsburg; sisters, Leoma Turner & Lavonne Ledford, both of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Charisse (Mike) Epley, Marie (Dave) Morgan, Emily (Justin) Powell, Justin May, Travis (Courtney) May, Abby (Chris) Davis, & Zack Parsons, as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 05, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Odis Clark officiating and burial following at Scott’s Fork Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin May, Travis May, Dave Morgan, Mike Epley, Zack Parsons, Justin Powell, Aiden Foley, Chris Davis & Spencer May. Honorary pallbearers include the Soul Sister’s Group at Scott’s Fork Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday, February 04, 2021 at the funeral home.
