Services for Patricia Wells have been updated. Services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Patricia Louise Watkins Wells, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Stanford. Born September 11, 1933 in Garrard County, Patricia was a daughter of the late Guy Hamilton Watkins and Esther Louise Marker Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Watkins, and two sisters, Elsie Adams & Giovanna Adams. A homemaker, Patty was a lover of the arts. A talented and avid painter for most of her life, she captured beauty in everything. Jazz music was her favorite and she relished in hearing her family friend, Chuck Weirich play live whenever the chance arose. An accomplished pianist, she played the organ for many years at the Lancaster United Methodist Church where she was a member. She could always be found tee-ing of at Dix River Golf course or possibly sitting in her favorite fishing spot patiently waiting for “The Big One”. A lover of the outdoors, her green thumb knew no bounds as she always had a lush garden of beautiful flowers and a bountiful selection of fruits and vegetables. Boating and camping was a staple in her life and traveling along with her family was a large part of it. Rolling down the highway was where she was happiest. Patty leaves behind her husband, Gleason Wells, as well as three daughters, Renita Kay Wells, Teresa Louise Wells, & Sandra Denise Wells, all of Lancaster, two granddaughters, Meagen (Robert) Baxley & Caitlin (Daniel Campbell) Christopher, one great grandchild, Grayson Baxley, one niece and six nephews. A celebration of Patty’s life will be from 4-8 PM Saturday July 23, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. After services, her requests for cremation rites will be honored.
