Rebecca Lynn Burke

Rebecca Burke, 69, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025 after a long illness.  Born on July 12, 1956, to James O. & Betty Lambert, Rebecca lived a life filled dedication, love, and quiet strength. She retired after many years of faithful service to the Lexington-Fayette County Government, where she formed a lasting friendship with her best friend, Cassandra.

Rebecca was preceded in beath by her beloved husband, Dennie, with whom she longed to be reunited with; her parents; and her brother, Jimmy.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Jessica Walden, and her two cherished grandchildren, who brought her great joy.  In her later years, Rebecca’s life was deeply enriched by the kindness and steadfast support of her wonderful neighbors, Tom and Vicki Molstad, and Doug and Ruth Fletcher—They were Always there when she called, offering friendship and help without hesitation.

A private memorial service will be held by her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rebecca’s memory  may go to a favorite animal rescue or pug rescue organization, reflecting her deep love for her dogs.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her devoted neighbors and friends for their care and companionship during her final years.
