Rev. Gary Mitchell Durham, age 61, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on July 5, 2024. He was born on May 3, 1963, in Campbellsville, Kentucky to the late Eugene and Delene Durham. Along with his parents, he is preceded by his sister, Jean Carol Durham and grandparents Paul and Ruby Durham and Lewis Elmer and Ruby Hash. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; wife, DeAnna Lynn (Combs) Durham; sons, Patrick M. Durham of Ocala and Adam T. Durham of Clarksville, Tennessee. Additionally, Gary is survived by a sister-in-law, Margaret Combs and a brother-in-law, Doug Combs (Annette); one aunt and uncle, Mike and Rita Logsdon of Louisville, KY and many other friends and relatives. A graduate of Campbellsville University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Gary pastored Round Top Baptist Church, Green River Memorial Baptist Church, and Hyattsville Baptist Church all in Kentucky and Hillcrest Baptist Church, Dyersburg, Tennessee prior to his tenure as senior pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, Ocala. Along with preaching the gospel, he enjoyed mission trips, fishing, golf, and relaxing on the beach. The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Operation Christmas Child (samaritanspurse.org) or NAMB Send Relief (sendrelief.org).
A public visitation will be held from 11:00 am Thursday, July 25, 2024 until 1:30 pm then a procession will leave for Paint Lick Cemetery for a graveside service to be held at 2:00 PM by Rev. Jerry Browning.
