Roger K. “Butch” York, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Born on Wednesday, February 14, 1945, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Cecil & Margaret Brim York. Butch was a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church, and was a life-long farmer. He and his father also formerly co-owned and operated York’s Auto Parts, in Junction City, Kentucky. Butch loved to fish, particularly catfishing, and always raised a large garden to share with friends and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Lynn York, and a sister, Rita York Ballard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann Dollins York, his daughter, Kimberly Ann (James) Million, of Lexington; brother, Cecil Wayne “Chuck” (Susan) York, of Lancaster, and a grandson, Jacob Michael Toney.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Horn officiating and burial following at Junction City Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jacob Toney, James Million, Mike Bolin, David Ferrell, Cliff Ed Irvin, Troy Long, Greg Foley, and Mike Duggins. Honorary pallbearers include his Forks of Dix River Sunday School class, and Estil Sims. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church building fund.
