Sophie Betty Russell

Sophie Betty Russell, 94, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Baptist Health Center in Lexington. Born February 22, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Sophie was a daughter of the late John Skendzel & Sophia Semrau Skendzal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and an infant son, Maxi Russell. She is survived by six sons, David, Ernie & Daniel Russell of California, Mark & Thomas Russell of Missouri, Paul Russell of Colorado, five daughters, Linda Benedict & Tina Jansen of Idaho, Tammy Adams, of Lancaster, Dorrie Mackey of California, Julies Houts, of Texas, as well as over 50 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Cremation rites for Ms. Russell will take place and local services will be private with burial in California at a later date.
