Timothy McCormick Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tim McCormick, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, who passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2025, at the age of 68 in Lancaster, KY.

Born on November 26, 1956 in St. Louis, MO., he lived a life marked by creativity, passion, and an unwavering dedication to his family. He was a proud and loving father to his children, Nick (Katie) and Rachel (Jesse) and a cherished “Pop Pop” to his granddaughters, Cayla and Evelyn.

Tim was known for his many talents, but none more than his musical gifts. A continuous student of the musical arts, Tim was well versed and highly skilled in playing various genres and instruments. While Tim didn’t like to sight read sheet music, his keen ear could dissect notes and melodies and quickly recreate them. Throughout the years, Tim played in countless bands throughout the St. Louis area where and could often be found in front of a crowd playing his guitar, harmonica, and singing lyrics ranging from the greatest hits to his own original works.

Tim was known to most of his colleagues, clients, and acquaintances as being outgoing, loquacious, creative and authentic. Tim was a man who was not shy with sharing his opinions, and often had an anecdote for any occasion. In private, Tim enjoyed his solitude and moments of quiet for himself. When he was not spending time pursuing his musical passions such as practicing or composing original works, he could be found enjoying other interests. No hobby called to Tim more than model railroading. Tim became an enthusiast and developed a love for the hobby from his father, Andrew James. Tim could often be found tinkering on his many train layouts and slot cars while listening to the St. Louis Cardinals broadcasts over the radio. He taught us the importance of intentional practice, pursuing one’s passion, the importance of family, and finding joy in the simple things in life.

A service to honor his life will be held on April 26th at Annunciation Catholic Church 12 W. Glendale Rd. in Webster Groves, MO. starting with visitation at 9:00 am followed by a mass at 10:00 am. Burial will be held at St. Paul churchyard at 11:00 am followed by a celebration of life shortly after. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The American Heart Association and American Humane Society in his memory.

His love, wisdom, and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
