Timothy Poynter

Timothy Poynter, 50, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025. Born on January 15, 1975, in Boyle County, he was a son of Helen Jones Keeling, of Lancaster, and the late James L. Poynter. He was an electrician by trade, and a member of the Church of Christ. Timothy loved hunting and fishing, enjoyed playing guitar, and was an avid UK basketball fan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Logan Poynter, Jr.

Survivors include his son, Trayce Poynter, of Lancaster, his daughter, Reece Poynter, of Richmond; brother, Eugene (Vanessa) Lacy, of Lancaster; sisters, Sue (Monte) Major, of Lancaster, and Tammy (Tim) Martin, of Ft. Worth, Texas.

A gathering of family & friends will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers include Jaghyr Wood, Pearce Molen, Daylan Logan, John Davis, Jason Sutton, Anthony Justice, Javon Thompson, and Garrett Wesley.
