Tommy West

Tommy West, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at his home. Born on September 13, 1935 in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Robert & Alberta Chapman West. Tommy was a carpenter by trade, and the owner of D&W Construction Company. He attended Victory Christian Church & Bethel Christian Church, and was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. Tommy was a custodian for the Garrard County School System for over 20 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. Tommy was also an avid UK basketball fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Snyder Sparks West; brother, Delbert West; sister, Myrtle Ann Hawkins.

Survivors include his sons, Thomas Martin West, of Boyle County, and Rodney Taylor West, of Junction City; daughter, Michelle Morgan, of Lancaster; step-son, Ricky Sparks, of Lancaster; brother-in-law, Johnny Snyder, of Lancaster, and one granddaughter, Casey Elizabeth Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 22, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Estes officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ron Moberly, Steve Himes, Johnny Snyder, John Smith, Bobby Carrier, Jerry Carrier, Curt Carrier, and Cody Lester. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the funeral home.
