Virgil “Deano” Brickey, 60, of Garrard County, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 1, 1965, he was a son of the late William “Toad” Virgil Brickey and Geneva Ellen Bryant Brickey. Deano was a member of the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; William Erwin & Goable Brickey and a sister, Carol Wine. Survivors include his siblings, Margaret Ann Whitson, Geneva Boyd, Alvin F. Brickey, Patricia (Bobby) Johnson, Wanda (David) Anderson, Vyone (Brad) Lewis & Roberta (Barry) Adams, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2026, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Daryl Hodge with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Dale Johnson, Branson Pruett, Gary Coffman, Nathan Hicks, Dakota Hicks, Richard Harrison, Joshua Adams and Harold D. Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Jenny Lee Hicks, Jennifer Johnson, Geneva Ison, Barbie Boyd, Jaime Ballard, Becky Lane, Nancy Mackey, Jennifer Winkle, Dwight Coffman, Cody Coffman, Ty Coffman & Trevor Johnson.
