Virginia M. Ray, 84, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital in Berea. Born on Saturday, November 05, 1938 in Marion County, she was a daughter of the late Milford & Martha Jane Roberts Albertson. Virginia was a former factory employee for Whirlpool & was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Richmond. She enjoyed vegetable & flower gardening, cooking, canning, reading scripture & spending time with her friends & family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Ray; daughter, Robin Simpson; brothers, Randall & Clyde Albertson; sister, Christine Raikes.
Survivors include her son, Franklin D. (Lori) Simpson, of Waco, Kentucky; daughters, Rita (Rodney) Himes & Terri (Billy) Hale, all of Paint Lick; special sister-in-law, Ann Adams, of Indiana; gradnchildren, Heather (Corey) Harding, Ashley (Brad) Bolton, Shawnta (Kevin Causey) Hale, Amber (Chris) Harover, Daniel (Hannah) Simpson, Samantha (Branson Parker) Hale; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Chloe, Natalie & Trent Davidson, Austyn & Stella Bolton, Jordan Causey, Wesley Hale & Scarlett Causey, as well as a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 30, 2023 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Ivan Price officiating and burial following at Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers include Daniel Simpson, Chris Harover, Corey Harding, Brad Bolton, Kevin Causey & Branson Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
