Wanda Kathryn (Hinds) Whitaker

Wanda Kathryn Hinds Whitaker, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Baptist Health of Lexington. Born on May 7, 1939 in Eubank, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Albert & Freda Hinds. Wanda was a homemaker, and a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death  by her husband, Robert Whitaker; daughter, Pamela Jo Whitaker; brothers, Leonard Hacker, E.J. Hinds; sisters, Louise Crumley, Dorvis Marie Vick, Bonnie Denny.

Survivors include her sons, Don (Kathy) Whitaker of Lancaster, Robert Whitaker of Lincoln County; brothers, Russell Hinds of Danville, Joe (Rita) Hinds of Lancaster, Ernie (the late Barbara) Hinds of Lancaster; sister, Alfreda Hicks of Tennessee; grandchildren, Travis & Tasha Stone, and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Braswell officiating, and burial following at Friendship Cemetery in Waynesburg, Kentucky. Pallbearers include Dewayne Whitaker, Bobby Whitaker, Evan Whitaker, Travis Stone, Kevin Knuckles, Adam Cole, and Ryan Arnold. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the funeral homes. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Wanda’s memory may go to the Buena Vista Baptist Church building fund.
