William Phillip “Bill” Elliott, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 at VA Medical Center, in Lexington. Born on April 30, 1944 in Danville, he was the son of the late Francis & Dorothy Rich Elliott. Bill was a retired employee for Sgt. Green Leaf for many years, and was a United States Army veteran. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed woodworking, and bird watching. Bill also loved his dogs, and liked to sing and listen to music. He also enjoyed the little things in life, like food, and he would often say to those around him, "I don’t eat to live, I live to eat.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Reed Elliott; sister, Marian Lockwood, and a step-daughter, Ann Margaret Logue.
Survivors include his daughter, Beth (Gary) Shearer, of Lancaster, step-children, Ellie (Darron) Vandivier, Carter (Bridgette) Logue, and Robbie (Robin) Logue, all of Harrodsburg; grandchildren, Tanner Shearer, Steven Shearer, and Rodman Tolliver, as well as a brother-in-law, Chuck Lockwood.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 4, 2025 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Bro. Daryl Hodge officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tanner Shearer, Steven Shearer, Gary Shearer, Daniel Leavell, Jeff Daly; honorary pallbearer Rodman Tolliver. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the funeral home.
