William Vernon Gallagher, 88, of Lancaster, husband of Patricia Godsey Gallagher, passed away Thursday, April 08, 2021 at Baptist Health of Lexington. Born Monday, January 23, 1933 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Willie & Perpie Hardwick Gallagher. Vernon was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a KY Colonel, a member of the VFW, and a member of Lancaster Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Ray, and Jewell Gallagher.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Godsey Gallagher, a nephew, Rick (Chris) Ray, of Danville, and a special friend, Tommy Tudor, of Lancaster .
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Brogli officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Rick Ray, Tommy Tudor, Bobby Tudor, John Tudor, Mark Brown, and Andy Godsey. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the funeral home.
