Gail Begley went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2023. She was 68. She passed from this life praising the Lord and expressing her gratitude for His love and redemption. Gail was born on June 2, 1954, in Richmond, Kentucky. She attended Robert E. Lee High School in Springfield, VA, and attended the University of Kentucky, but her passion was centered in her faith. She was the president of the Presbyterian Youth Fellowship in high school and active in church as long as her health allowed. Gail worked at UK Medical Center before moving back to Virginia to serve her country in the Federal government. Her exceptional performance and dedication to duty were recognized multiple times, and she was eventually appointed to the prestigious office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). Gail is survived by her brother Phil of Greer, SC, his wife Lisa, and their children Hannah, Seth, and Rachel. She is also survived by her brother Tim, his wife Lisa, and their children Kelsey and Delaney. She was preceded in death by her father Clyde and mother Mary. Gail’s favorite biblical image was the lion laying down with the lamb, a foretelling of her future home in Heaven. The family will receive friends at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home in Lancaster, KY on Friday, May 26th from 5 to 7 PM. There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, May 27th at 11:00 AM at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home after which she will be laid to rest next to her mom and dad in Lancaster Cemetery.
